CANADA closed to UK pension transfers!

Residents of Canada that hold UK pensions can no longer transfer those pensions to any Canadian pension after HMRC deregistered the last Canadian schemes this week.

As HMRC in the UK continues to tighten up regulations for compatible international pension schemes, Canada has become the latest victim of the clampdown.

Over recent months the 95 Canadian schemes that were once registered have now all been removed from the UK approved list, because the ability to access monies before age 55 on the grounds of ill health does not comply with UK rules.

However, all is not lost. There are several very solid and approved alternatives for Canadian residents.
